| Rifornimenti/Bunker facilities
The Port is one of the Mediterranean's best equipped bunkering stations.
Though bunkers are delivered at all times, clearance is instead granted
by Customs and Harbour Master within working hours.
All grades of bunkers, fuel and gasoil are available, including
intermediate fuels. Quantities required must be ordered in advance by
vessel owner/charterer to sales department head office of the suppliers.
Bunkers are normally supplied by barges and sometime ex-warfe at the
refineries for vessels during cargo operations.Bunkers barges are not
allowed alsongside tankers while at piers.
Local customs regulations do not allow any remaining quantity of bunker
to be returned to the refinery and/or to the suppliers. So in order to
avoid delays and problems, it is imperative that vessel's ETA and exact
amount/type of bunkers requirements be cabled by the Master at least
72/48 hours before arrival, especially for vessels calling only for
bunkers, and for vessels arriving at weekends or holiday time.
If the Masters comply with these instructions, bunker service will be
accomplished in a very short time.
Fresh Water:
A group of companies supply fresh water to berthed and/or anchored
vessels by various sized and self propelled barges, for any amount of
water required. Only LPG vessels must get their water supply at anchor.
Water supply is also authorised for vessels anchored out-side
breakwater, if in free pratique.
